Sony cuts PS3 prices... not.

Sony president Ryoji Chubachi is still not saying whether his company will cut the price of the most expensive next-gen video game console or not.

Facing fierce competition from both Nintendo and Microsoft, Sony is still wondering whether to lower their price.

The problem with lowering the price seems to be that Sony will lose more money, at least in the short term. But not lowering the price will surely make the gaming division sink to new lows as inventories start to pile up in factories.

PS3 no longer holds the title "the cheapest Blu-Ray player". That has been taken by Sony's own Blu Ray player coming out, retailing US$100 less than the brick.

Lack of exclusive block buster + expensive console = bad for business
